About Allyson
Allyson Roche is a writer and actor from Los Angeles, California. Allyson’s work has appeared in WriteGirl’s anthologies, including This Moment: Bold Voices from WriteGirl, as well as Wack Mag, Emerson College’s Em Magazine, Gauge Magazine, and Five Cent Sound Magazine. Her work is interdisciplinary and impressionistic, and she locates her shifting form somewhere between anti-narrative essays, literary analysis, fiction, critical theory, and diary writing. In UCLA's English Departmental Honors Program, Allyson was awarded the 2023 Thompson Prize for her Honors Thesis entitled, "'Between Gloom and Laughter': Female Longing, Unhappiness, and Structures of Absence in the Works of Virginia Woolf." She intends on pursuing a PhD in English with a focus on Modernism and Queer and Feminist Theory.
Allyson worked as a child actress until the age of 12, appearing in more than 25 national commercials. Her IMDB is here. She can be seen most recently in Alpine Universe’s music video, “The Hunter,” as well as the Zephyr Theater’s Jane Austen satire, Inducements and Encouragements as Lady Cassandra. She is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA and is currently seeking representation.
